Update Subscription using the Joomla! update manager
The Visforms Subscription supports updating with Joomla! update manager. Thus you are automatically informed in the administration of your website if a newer version of the Visforms Subscription is available and you can install the update using the Joomla! update manager in the administration of your website. In order to use this feature, it is necessary that you provide a valid download id.
Where can I find my download id?
You can find your download id here on our website. Please log in with the user name which you used to buy the subscription. You find the log in in the user menu (klick user icon on the top right side of the website). After you are sucessfully logged in, you can find a new menu item "My Subscriptions" in the user menu. Switch to this menu item. You will find your download id at the bottom of the page, then.
What do I do with the download id?
Please go to Components >> Visforms in the administration panel of your website. In the "Visforms Dashboard" you can find a button "Update" in the section "Manage Subscription". Please click this button and enter your download id in the input "Your download id" in the pop-up that is now displayed. Confirm with "Submit".
Your changes will be loaded in the Joomla! update manager only after you have cleared the update manager cache. Please go to Extensions >> Manage >> Update in the administration panel of your website and press the "Clear Cache" button.
If you have not entered your download id in the "Visforms Dashboard" or the downlaod id is not valid (due to typos or because your subscription is expired), and you try to update a Visforms Subscription using the Joomla! update manager, this process will fail with an Error 403. You will further get a message, that you can download the update manually from the following link. This message and the link are created by the Joomla! update manager. If you try to use the link, you will get an Error 403, too, because the download cannot be accessed directly. Sadly it ist not possible for a developer to prevent Joomla! from displaying that invalid link.
In order to solve the problem, you have to retrieve your download id, add it in the Visforms Dashboard and clear the Joomla! update manager cache. Then try again.
Alternatively you can download the latest Visforms Subscription Version at any time here from this website, as long as you have an active Visforms Subscription. Please log in with the user name which you used to buy the subscription. Then change to the "Downloads" section of our website. In the colum "Official Releases" the Visforms Subscription download is the second item from the top. (Right under the download of Visforms itself). Please click "View releases in this category" and then "View fiels" and then "Download now". Save the download on your computer and install the update in the Joomla! extension manager of your website.
