On June 29, 2026, we released Visforms 6.2.0.
The code overhaul begun with Visforms 6.1 has continued.
Furthermore, we were able to implement numerous new features for the Location and Upload field types, which had been on the wish list for a long time.
We use canary releases for Visforms updates. This makes the latest version available to an increasingly large group of users in stages. It is therefore quite possible that a current release is not yet available for your Joomla update manager.
However, all current updates are still available for download on our website. This allows you to manually update to the latest version at any time, even if it is not officially your turn yet.
On April 13, 2026, we released Visforms 6.1.0.
With the transition to Joomla 6, we began a complete overhaul and modernization of the Visforms JavaScript. This process is far from over.
In parallel with the code overhaul, we have consistently worked on implementing new features. In this release, the Visforms placeholders have been further expanded, and interesting new features for multi-page forms have been implemented.

On October 16, 2026, we released Visforms and Subscription 6.0. This version is natively compatible with Joomla 6. The Joomla Behaviour plugin for backward compatibility is not required.
On October 6, 2025, we released Visforms and Subscription 5.6.0. This version is fully compatible with Joomla 6 and PHP 8.4.
It is the last minor version for Joomla 5 that still contains new features. Visforms 5.6.x will only receive bug fixes and security fixes.
As soon as Joomla 6 is finally released, the first Visforms 6 version will be available shortly, which will then be a pure Joomla 6 version. From now on, all new features will be developed exclusively in Visforms 6.

Revising the Visforms code for Joomla 6 compatibility is once again a focus of this release. Furthermore, the code has been revised for PHP 8.4 compatibility.
The release also includes some interesting new features from the feature wish list.

Joomla 6 completes a code restructuring process that began on Joomla 4. Numerous old code functions will then be completely removed. Revising the Visforms code for Joomla 6 compatibility is a key focus of this release.

We are pleased that we were once again able to implement numerous feature requests and improvements that were brought to our attention via the forum.
New features always mean extensive changes to the code. We test all changes very thoroughly. But despite everything, it's only us who are testing. That's why feature releases with many new features are always released as beta versions.
