Do not log ip adress / EU-DSGVO

Hi folks,

is there an option somewhere to completely disable storing ip addresses?
(Or, maybe even better, so store only the first n ip address bytes?)

With EU-DSGVO in mind this looks like a good option to me.

Gibt es eine Option, das Speichern von IP-Adressen komplett zu unterbinden?
(Oder, vielleicht noch besser, nur die ersten n Bytes der IP-Address?)

Scheint mir eine gute Option in Beziug auf die EU-DSGVO.

at the moment this is not possible but I have already considered that this might be a good idea. So thanks for your suggestion.

As it is actually a bit of work to implement this, I have not yet decided, whether this will be a subscription feature only. But I think, that I will implement this and release it before May, 25th.

I made this a feature of the Visforms Subscription. It is available with the Visform Subscription 3.2.1 Release Candidate in combination with Visforms 3.11.2 Release Candidate. Both installations are not yet distributed using the Joomla! Update manager because their status is release candidate.

You can download the installations from the downloads menu (the Visforms Subscription can, of course, only be downloaded, if you have an active Visforms Subscription and are logged on with the subscription user on our website).

After you have installed both updates, you will find a new option in the form configuration tab "advanced" where you can disable the storage of the ip address with the submitted user inpunts in the data base.

We recommend to test on a test website first. At least make sure, that you have a full backup of your website, before you install the updates.
