Question about My submissions menu item...

Question about My submissions menu item... wurde erstellt von liaskas
Hello
Menu item type: My Submissions lists all my submissions to all forms. Can we somehow limit the list by form?

For example:
We need a menu item to show my submissions only to "form 1". If this is not possible with a component menu item, can you please provide a link to show the parent user's submission for "form 1"?

Thank you.

Hello,
if you want to display submissions of a specific form, only, please use the Menu item type: Form Data (Display data of a single form).

Then follow the instructions in this documentation: www.vi-solutions.de/en/documentations/do...own-record-sets-only

Regards,
Aicha

Thank you for your reply.

By setting "Own Data only", then not even administrators are able to view other people data! Just their own!

We need a way so that each user can see his own data and Admins can see all users data.

Hi,

yes that is the aim of "Own Data only".
Making sure that all user can really only see their own submissions in the front end, regardless of whether they are only "Registered" or "Super User".
I really thought, that was, what you were looking for, because in the "My Submissions" Menu Item Type this is just the same.
Administrators cannot see the submissions of other users, there, too.

Actually the question who can see what is quite sensitive.
And Visforms' first priority is, to protect data from being exposed to users, who are not entitled to see the data.
And with regards to the display of the data, we just make a difference between "own" or "not own".
This is implemented with the Menu Item Type Form Data (Display data of a single form).

On the other hand, if you decide, that submissions can be edited by users or admins, then Visforms works differently.
Then only the fact, whether someone can edit submissions or not, decides whether they can see submissions or not.

So, what you want, is actually not a use case which can be set up easily with Visforms and is in part tied to edit permissions.
You can try using the Menu Item Type "Display form data with edit link" (which actually is the equivalent to the Menu Item Type "My Susmission" for a single form).
In order to show/hide submissions from users you have to use the permission to edit data/edit own data in front end.
In the menu item configuration on the "Form Data Display Options" make sure, that the Option "Editable Record Sets Only" is set to yes.

Or you can use two different menu items.
One as Form Data (Display data of a single form), for the registered users.
One as Form Data (Display form data with edit link), for admins.
In this case, limit the access to the menu item form admins to the respective access level.
Setting the Option "Editable Record Sets Only" to yes is then not necessary.

Regards,
Aicha

Thank you for your reply!

We have accomplished what we needed by setting menu items of type "Display form data with edit link".

Then through css we hidden the edit icons on the list page.

Thank you.
