Form Data With Edit Link Page - Search Tools - Select Lists

Hello,

The select lists created by this page create select lists with a label that appends the word "select".
This takes up unnecessary space and does not conform to the basic standards used everywhere else in the component.

I would like to know what to edit to remove this to make room for pertinent information. Is there an override somewhere I can change?

I guess you mean the field-specific select-box that appears as a filter-field in the 'Search Tools' of the visforms data-views.
A listbox in the 'Search Tools' that represents a form-field of type 'listbox' - in order to filter specific listbox options - looks like this
(where name stands for the label of the form field):
'- Select name -'

This text is a translated Joomla language 'ID string' with an identifier (the language-tag) of: COM_VISFORMS_FILTER_SELECT_SELECT_A_VALUE
Its original value in the English language file is:
COM_VISFORMS_FILTER_SELECT_SELECT_A_VALUE="- Select %s -"

You can modify the value of the language-tag by simply using the Joomla Language Manager, which is is a common standard Joomla feature.
In your case you may want to set the language-tag simply to empty, or to something like '- %s -' (where %s is replaced against the form field label).
