Upload Field- Appear In Edit ONLY

Hi.. 

I have an upload field in my form and i need to make sure it only appear in the Form when a user want to edit the form. Not when user fill up new form. Where can i get this setting, i have currently checked several time but i could not see where to make it so.

Visforms Version 5.5.1,
Subscription Version 5.5.1,
Joomla version is 5.3.3
PHP version = 8.2.0

Hi,

the feature 'edit only field' is currently available for the following field types

text,email,url,tel,number,date,select,radio,checkbox,multicheckbox,hidden,password,textarea,signature,selectsql,radiosql,multicheckboxsql.

The field type file upload is not in that list.
I'm currently not sure, why we excluded this field type.

I have created a development issue in the feature wish list:
Issue [VF-1582]: Make field type upload edit only field

When we release the new feature, you will be explicitly informed about the release here in the topic.

the new feature is included in the latest release from October, 6 2025 for Joomla 5:

We use canary releases for Visforms updates.
This allows the latest version to be made available to an increasingly large group of users in stages.
It's therefore quite possible that a current release isn't yet available for your Joomla update manager.

However, all current updates are still available for download on our website.
This allows you to manually update to the latest version at any time, even if it's not officially your turn yet.

I downloaded the new versions and installed. The upload is now having the Edit Only Field Settings.
