How to insert Google Tracking Code ?

i'm using Joomla 2.5.19 and VisForms component 1.04, so I would like insert an Adwords Google Tracking into the confirmation page sent by VisForms.
Someone can help me !

I've never used Adwords Google Tracking but the confimation page is created by the file message.php in yourJoomlaInstallation/components/com_visforms/views/visforms/tmpl folder.

the Google Tracking is very important for us.

We use Joomla! 3.4.8 with Visforms Version 3.5.8 - I modified /components/com_visforms/views/visforms/tmpl/message.php with our Tracking-Code, that works fine, but could you please tell me if there is a way to modify the message.php in an "Update-Save" way.

A colleague made a visform update and my changes were gone, the tracking data is very valuable for us (Google AdWords is expensive).

Hope you can give me a hint, thanks in advance!

Hi,

the update save way, is to create an override of the view file (/components/com_visforms/views/visforms/tmpl/message.php) in your template folder. This is a standard Joomla! feature. You can either do it manually only for this file or in the template manager in the administration of your website. I think there are good documentations on the Joomla! Website on how to create an override.

If you insert the tracking code in the override file, it will not be touched by Visforms updates. But if I change the view file for an update, you may have to adapt your override file as well, but the code will not be gone.
