error message that user has to enter e-mail addres

It is interesting that the system submitted the file to folder that is defined in form settings despite reporting the error.
Thus, I Think that it is rather php validation.

if the form fails in php validation no files should be upload to the final destination, no mails send, no data stored in db, but the submit process should be cancel. Hmmm

The only explanation I can image is that the error message itself was cached, but that is weird too.

After visitor reported error I tried as admin to fill out the form and I got the same error despite the fact that I entered e-mail and file was uploaded.

I will try to set up a test system and try to reproduce your problem as soon as possible.

You said, that the problem does not occur when the field is not required, right?
Maybe you can set the field to read-only, because it is already filled with the correct e-mail. Then you would not need the required option (Just as a work-around until I hopefully can figure what is going wrong).
