Visforms 4.3.0 - Beta version with many new features
We are very happy to announce that today we released Visforms and Visforms Subscription 4.3.0. Many large and small feature requests that reached us via the forum could be implemented. It is a beta version. So thoroughly tested by us, please test thoroughly before using the version on a productive system!
One focus of the release was the development of a mechanism that makes it easy to add custom Javascript and CSS to a selected form for different views (form, result text, data, edit view...). In this context, the HTML class structure of the Visforms frontend views was also consolidated.
For developers, we've introduced two important new events, the lack of which has limited the ability to customize Visforms.
Furthermore we have added an 'Inspector View' to the Visforms administration, with which it is possible to check if all Visforms files are installed correctly.
Existing configuration options have been expanded in many places. E.g. the form configuration around the feature 'Publish Up' and 'Publish down'. In PDF documents, the possibility was created to insert a manual page break, in the Content Plugin Visforms form to use the article text as a default value in form fields. A field's custom text can now be used to replace the field label. This makes it possible for the first time to use your own HTML in the field label and e.g. display a link.
The e-mail configuration has also been expanded. It is now possible to use Visforms placeholders in the email address options (Mail To, Mail From, Mail CC, Mail BCC and Mail From Name). The data list that is generated when 'Append data' is activated in the e-mail configuration now offers the possibility to specify whether the option value or the option label should be used for list boxes, radio buttons and checkbox groups.
A not inconsiderable effort was made to reduce sources of error in the Visforms configuration.
Our next step is to update the documentation so that the new features are explained there. We will make this adjustment successively.
