Chrome issue - condition field was created by dagsvic
Hi there,
I setup up some condition fields that. If option 1 chosen display field or if option 2 chosen from drop down then display field 2.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on chrome (desktop and mobile).
Can u pls advise how to fix?
I'm on latest stable visforms and joomla.

Hi,

are you sure, that this is only a problem on chrome, have you tested on other browsers?
Can I have a link to the form please (you can mail it to contact@vi-solutions.de if you don't want to publish it here in the forum).

Regards,
Aicha

Correct can only get it to occur on chrome.
Firefox and ie and others on mobile as well as desktop work fine.
I notice also if I use smtp with joomla it sometimes goes to blank page after submitting and doesn't send but with phpmail seems to work ok. (aware that's probably a different thread but I'm still investigating on my side wats causing this).
I'll email the url shortly.
Thanks

EDIT -- i seem to notice that it doesn't like to work within a period of time after sending a form.
The fields will display occasionally and not other times.
I have just set the mail back to phpmail and the blank form happens with that too.
I'm on PHP 5.6 and joomla 3.6.2 and VisForm 3.7.10

Hi,

thanks for mailing me the link.
When I look at the contact form the conditional fields generally seem to work properly on firefox as well as on chrome. "Enquiry Tour" and "Heard about us" both trigger the display of different conditional fields, depending on the selection in these list boxes. But when I reload the form (F5) the field still work fine on firefox but do no longer react on chrome.

When I look at the page with the browser console, it indicates, that there are a lot of javascript errors on the page. There seems to be a javascript incompatiblity.

I'm not sure, where this strange behaviour comes from, if this is a result of the javascript problem, of a thirdparty extension on your website which breaks the form, a server setting or something else? Could be the same reason as for the other problem.

Regards,
Aicha

Hmmmmm
I may have knocked my head a few times and found a possible cause..
Async of .js

Are you able to test the form now and don't be shy on sending trial entries if you need to.

Hi,

I had to clear the browser cache once (to get rid of the old javscirpt stored somewhere). After that conditional fields seem to work properly on chrome even when I have reloaded the page with F5 serveral times.

I try to send you the form, but that only work once. There is some problem with the Captcha. I think you have still enable Joomla! cache on your website. If you use Visforms in a module, you have to make sure, that the page with the form is not cached. (Settings in System configuration and cache plugin).

Aicha
