Upload Files Directory - Organize into folders

We have forms where the person is uploading more than one file into the form. When we get the upload into the folder, is there a way to tie the uploaded file to the form that is submitted? Right now it looks like it mixes everything together in the folder.

Hi,

you can create a separate upload folder for each form in the form configuration. So, if you have more than one form on your website you can have a separate upload folder for each of them. But all files, that are uploaded through different submissions of one form goes into the same folder.

Form 1 -> Uploadfolder 1
Files form first submission -> Uploadfolder 1
Files form second submission -> Uploadfolder 1
...
Form 2 -> Uploadfolder 2
Files form first submission -> Uploadfolder 2
Files form second submission -> Uploadfolder 2
...

Regards,
Aicha

Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.

This isn't what I mean. On the one form, we have need of several uploads. All of these uploads from the different form responses get mixed together in the one folder for the form. How can we cause each form response to create a folder that the uploads from that response would go to? Having say, the folder name to be the ID of the particular form response.

What meathod do you have to separate uploaded files out to tie them to the form responses?

Hi,

Within Visforms they are tied.
For example in the result mail (you attach the uploaded files to the mail or you can add a link to the file in the mail)
In the data views (if "Save Results" is enabled in the form configuration so that the data are stored in the database) you can display a link to the files.
But outside of Visforms you do not know which file belongs to which submission. (This is not the aim of Visforms)

Regards,
Aicha
