Customizing result mail template

Customizing result mail template was created by arnaudgautron
Hi,

I'm using visforms to manage contact forms. I'm also using other extensions.
I'd like to make all email sent by my site look pretty muche the same. To say so, I'd like to uniformize the look and feel (same background colors, same font size, etc.).
I haven't found where I can properly override the result email HTML template (I'm not talking about the content of the email, mail options tab in backend form edit).
Is there a way?

Thank you.
Arnaud

Hi,

as described in the documentation, basically Visforms provides you with two different approaches of creating the mails.

The first one focuses on automization and as litte work for you as possible.
For this approach you use the "yes/no" settings on the email tab in the form configuration.
This approach does not allow you any individualization with regards to layout and design....

The second one focuses an individuality.
For this approach you set all the "yes/no" settings on the email tab in the form configuration to no and use the text editor field where you can enter and design an individual email.
Data, submitted with the form, can be added using the Visformsplaceholder editor button.
You can add images, and use pretty much all functions which a text editor provides in order to customize HTML.

Both approaches have up- and down sides and limits.
So how good this will work for you.

Regards,
Aicha

OK, I've checked it out.
I can design an individual mail with the fields I choose, that works.

My point is: how to fully customize the html code? The editor is TinyMCE in backend even when the global configuration is set to CodeMirror. I can use TinyMCE but it has some limitations.

I'd like, for example, to change the background color of the HTML email body. I can do that in other extensions where I have acces to a PHP template of the emails sent automatically by forms. I can't figure how to do that with visForms?

I know I have to check the documentation but I can't find anything on that specific issue. Thank you!

Hi,

sadly we cannot use any other editor at this spot, because the other editors do not support multi instance use.

Styling HTML using the TinyMCE is nothing specific to Visforms, therefor you will find nothing about this, in the documentation.

Why do you not just switch to the html source code view of the editor and surround your mail body with a div, to which you set the background-color using the style attribute?

Aicha

Thank you for the answer. Of course TinyMCE is nothing specific to visforms, I know that!
I will try this way: edit the html source code with inline styles, and tell you. Perhaps I'll have to configure TinyMCE plugin to make some HTML tags usable (some aren't by default).
