Trying to make a SIMPLE multi column form.
Gone all through the doc. Nothing.

www.vi-solutions.de/en/documentations/vi...0-multi-column-forms

Tried EVERY combination of bootstrap and the multiple ineffective formats they are supposed to provide.

Seldom have I ever paid as much for this level of frustration.

Which Joomla! template do you use on your website?

 I recommend you the new and up-to-date documentation for Joomla 4:
docs.joomla-5.visforms.vi-solutions.de/en/docs/
Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.
Please only ask 1 question per topic :-).

The framework is Helix Ultimate (1.1.2 - latest)
I also use sp-pagebuilder from the same people. (again, latest)
I build my own templates based on these.

I'm pretty conscientious about not hacking the core, so aside from aesthetic considerations, I don't usually do new overrides or a lot of custom coding.

Thank you for your reply.

Visforms supports the display of several common template frameworks (Bootstrap 2 to 4, UIkit 2 and 3).
The framework-independent ‘Default Layout’ is pre-selected for each form.
It must be set to the active template framework under the setting ‘Form layout’.

As far as I can learn from the Helix Ultimate product page it is build with Bootstrap 4.
If that is the case, you would have to select the "Bootstrap 4" layout in the form layout configuration (form configuration: Tab "Advanced").

How a multi column form is set up, depends on the selected form layout (and how the underlying layout framework is build).
Therefore there are multiple articles in our documentation explaining how to set up a multi column form, depending on the selected form layout.

For the Bootstrap 4 layout the instructions are here: www.vi-solutions.de/en/documentations/do...-bootstrap-4-layouts

If the Helix Ultimate framework uses another layout framework (i.e. Bootstrap 3), then please have a look at this documentation article first:
www.vi-solutions.de/en/documentations/vi...layout-configuration

By the way, I actually think, Helix is a great template framework.
Regards,
Aicha

Ok, apparently I did not drill down far enough after selecting bootstrap 4. This looks like it opens things up considerably.

I agree. I think Helix is a really good framework. Used for several years now.
