display problem in frontend was created by eekaa
Hello,

I installed Visforms few months ago and it worked always OK. Untill now unfortunately. I have a problem displaying the data in the frontend. When I select the page where the results are shown I get 2 pages of 20 rows. Once I select page 2 and viewed it, I can not turn back to page 1. Visforms freezes in page 2.

I installed the latest update. I thought that might bring the solution, but there was no change. Problem still occurs.

Does somebody know what is/went wrong?

Thanks in advance

Eric

Hi,

actually that is a bug which results from a change of the pagination interface in Joomla! and many extensions which use the pagination in frontend views struggle with this problem (it only occurs with SEF-Urls on, but you would want to use the SEF-Urls of course).

Actually I fixed the problem (the demo on my website runs on the latest Visforms version and works fine www.vi-solutions.de/en/demo-registration-list ).

So I'm a bit at a loss, what's going wrong on your website.
Could you try to clear all caches (Browser, Joomla).

Regards,
Aicha

Hi,

I cleared all caches as suggested. That didn't solve the problem.
Then I disabled SEF-Urls. That did solve the problem. But as you said, I do want to use SEF-Urls.

I am using Joomla 3.3.6 Stable and Visforms 3.1.1 with the latest update Joomla could find.

Hi,

the Problem started with Joomla! 3.3 as far as I remember. I solved it for the Visforms 3.2.x Versions.
There are already 5 updates in the Visform 3.2.x series and I think, that it is tested very good by know.
I don't want to make releases for Visforms 3.1.x any more but to switch the stable Version to Visforms 3.2.x very soon
So I would suggest that you upadte to Visforms 3.2.5 but please read this article first. www.vi-solutions.de/en/documentations/vi...ings-you-should-know

Hi Aicha,

Thanks for your anwser.
Ok I will update the componant and I will make a backup. But what about the current form and data. Does the update overwrite the tables in the database with the the formfields and with the data?

Regards,

Eric

Hi,

when you install any update of Visforms, this will automatically run an update script that handels all database changes needed for the update. So the update does not delete any database table but just make the necessary adaptations.
Your form, fields and user input data are all preserved!

The backup is mostly required for the case that something goes wrong during the update. So that you can restore the website to the state it has had before the update. I( cannot make 100% sure every update on every installation works without erors but I have tested very, very carefully.)

Regards,
Aicha
