Error: Firt mail OK, next mails KO

I try your free version of VisForms

I have used it to do a formular for a web site

When I start the web site (on localhost), visForm can send a first mail by smtp and the result message appears on the browser. If I want to send another mail, the second mail is not sent and the result message doesn't appear... We have on the screen, the formular without data and... without any error message!

what exactly do you mean by "If I want to send another mail", do you mean, that you fill in data into the form for the second time und submit the form for a second time or do you mean, that you have set up the form in a way that it sends two different mails, when it is submitted one time?

How did you publish the form (via a menu item of type Visforms or as a Visformsf module)?

Hi,

I use:
- Joomla v.3.8.3 running on a local Apache server
- Visforms v.3.10.3

Emails are sent via an external smtp mail server. If I send emails of test from Joomla configuration part, all emails are received.

I use a menu item of type Visforms to load the contact form

I use Joomla back-office to preview the website, I test my development and I try to send an email with Visforms.

First time, the email is sent correctly by Visforms: I complete fields in the form, press the button "send" and Visforms displays the result message... And the mail is well received.

I use the browser to display other pages of my website and I try again to send a new email with Visforms: I complete fields in the form, press the button "send"... Visforms doesn't display the result message (the display is refreshed and I have again the form without any data in fields)... And the mail is not received.

After that, I have the same behaviour for the next emails...

thanks for the additional information.

Are you testing on a desctop pc or on a mobile device?

This sounds to me like a very special sort of caching problem. I say special, because I cannot remember that I have heard of this similar behaviour before and Visforms is used by thousands of people. And I say special, too, because, if you publish the form via menu, the standard Joomla! cache does not cache the page, so it is most probably not the Joomla! cache that bothers you, but some other cache.

Basically, if the page is loaded from a cache (no matter where the cached page comes from) this would look excatly as you describe it, because the second time you submit the form, Visforms "thinks" the form is invalide (there is a mechanism that prevents a user from submitting the same form instance twice, that is not triggered properly if the page is loaded from a cache) and will redisplay the form. Usually there would be an error message ("you can send the form only once") and the user inputs, which you have already made would be inserted into the form, but because the page is again loaded from the cache (which holds the page with the empty form) you just see the empty form again and no error message.

Sadly I cannot tell you, why or where the page is cached (is this due to php settings of your local test system, is this due to .htaccess settings.....??.)

If you like too, you can provide my with an Akeeba Backup backup of the website and I can look, whether I can reproduce the problem on my local test system (send me a link, where I can download the backup to contact@vi-solutions.de, then). If I can't reproduce the problem, we would know, that it has something to do with the settings on your system, if I can, I would gladly debug this.
