How to verify if the plugin is working? was created by claudiodestasio
Hi, sorry for my english!
I installed Spambotcheck to avoid spambot login attempt.
This summer i noticed many login attempts in joomla error.php log.
To avoid this i first tried i plugin to simply ban IPs.
This require a continuos work to check news failed login attempts in error.php and then adds these ip to the plugin...
Now i tried Spambotcheck but checking error.php show many login attempts from spammer ip (manually checked on stopforumspam). Is plugin working on my site? I never received admin email notification !
Ideas?

Hi,

To find information about how I advice to set up your plugin parameters you may look here.

www.vi-solutions.de/de/forum/15-joomla-p...e-and-a-request-for-

If you are interested in blocking via IP you should include the IP-Servers (projecthoneypot, sorbs, spamcop). Sign up on projecthoneypot.org (it's free) to get the key that is required to use that spambot-database.

You have to set plugin parameter "Notify Admin via E-Mail" to yes, if you want to recieve an e-mail every time a spammer is block. Be careful, you may recieve very many e-mail.

A better alternative is to set parameter "Log spammer to db" to yes and look into the database to see blocked login/registration-events.

How to look into database is described in thread above as well.

Regards, Aicha
