PLG_USER_SPAMBOTCHECK_USER_REGISTRATION_SPAM_TXT ?

This language string is not translated when a assumed spammer is trying to register:
PLG_USER_SPAMBOTCHECK_USER_REGISTRATION_SPAM_TXT

I can see the string in the language file in the dir plugins/user/spambotcheck/language/en-GB, but those files are not installed to administrator/language/en-GB/ when installed. There is no installcode in the spambotcheck.xml install file.

After copy-pasting the 2 files from
plugins/user/spambotcheck/language/en-GB
to
administrator/language/en-GB/
it displays fine again.

Hi,

thanks for your post.

Usually it is not necessary to put the language files into the administrator/language/en-GB folder and thus having an install code for the language. On the contrary, the Joomla! developer documentation even advices to put the language files directly into a language/en-GB folder in the plugin (componente, module...) folder. In this case the installation manifest only contains a statement to copy the language folder from the installation package into the plugin folder.

But it looks to me, that if language files for the plugin have at some time been copied to the administrator language folder (which was the case with the first versions of the plugin) and if they have not been removed properly (which might have been the case with some updates), there is a problem, when the new language files are not put into the administration/language folder as well.
I think the problem is, that on your installation were old language files in the administrator language folder (which are not compatible with the current Joomla! version) and that they have caused the problem. I also think, that removing all plugin spambot check language files from the administrator/language folder, and having a proper language folder in the plugin folder itself, might solve the problem, too. This is the intended state.

Regards,
Aicha

 I recommend you the new and up-to-date documentation for Joomla 4:
docs.joomla-5.visforms.vi-solutions.de/en/docs/
Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.
Please only ask 1 question per topic :-).

Das meiste gilt rückwirkend auch für Joomla 3.
Bitte immer nur 1 Frage pro Thema stellen :-).
