URL Params was created by dewachta
I am trying to useurl- parameters vi-solutions.de/en/documentations/visfor...lue-using-url-params but it does not work as expected. I did allow url params in the field objet. I use the url www.swingandsway.be/index.php/contacts/e...form2objet=President .
Objet is the french for object, it is not a misspelling.

Thanks, Regards.

Hi,

could you please send me frontend login data to contact@vi-solutions.de, so that I can see the form?

Regards,
Aicha

 I recommend you the new and up-to-date documentation for Joomla 4:
docs.joomla-5.visforms.vi-solutions.de/en/docs/
Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.

 Ich empfehle Dir die neue und aktuelle Dokumentation für Joomla 4:

Das meiste gilt rückwirkend auch für Joomla 3.

You can access test site new.swingandsway.be . You can access the form new.swingandsway.be/index.php/contacts/envoyer-un-message . In the test case I did give to you, field Objet has name objet. Final intention is to preselect the select box Destinataire with name dest. Both have Allow params in URL selected.

Possible selections for dest are
Ariane;Ariane Hoyois - Professeur
President;Jacques Donnay - Président
Info;Michelle Dacremont - Secrétaire
WebMaster;Freddy De Wachter - WebMaster
Comptable;Michel Cologne - Comptable
Decoratrice;Dominique Van Glabeke - Décoratrice
Fetes;Marc Baldewijns - Evénements
Fetes1;Nicolas Geoffroy - Evénements
Assistante;Michèle Dutilleux - Assistante
Assistante2;Jacqueline Martin - Assistante
Thanks and best regards.

Hi,

thanks for the test installation and the link!

It came immediately clear, what the problem is.
If you want to set the value of a select using url parameters you have to use a slightly different syntax (see section "Exceptions for selects and checkbox groups" in the documentation).

So correct would not be
Code:
form2objet[]=President
not
Code:
form2objet=President

(As you wrote below on the test installation the field name is dest and therefore the urlparameter working there is form2dest[].)

Regards,
Aicha

I did not see in the documentation that form2 had to be added to the fieldname. Thanks very much for your help.
Best regards.
