I'm requesting your help to properly configure some forms so that users can edit their responses before switching groups and have access to the page's resources.

The idea is as follows: a user is created and assigned a default group. This group has limited permissions. Upon accessing the page, a menu with the different forms is displayed.

The user will complete the forms and submit them. If they detect an error in their information or want to change the data entered, they can modify the data they previously submitted.

The data the user modifies must be their own and must not affect the data of other users, which is why they must be logged in.

The question is:
- What are the correct steps to create a form with these features?
- I originally created 5 forms using the free version of Visforms. Now that I have the paid version, how can I modify the forms I created, or do I need to create them from scratch for them to work?

Joomla 5.2.4
Visforms version 5.4.1
Subscription version 5.4.1

Hello AVTools,

Thank you for the version information and your questions on the topic.
The answers to these questions are all provided in the documentation.
I recommend reading the 'Edit data in the frontend' section in full, as this feature offers a wide range of possibilities and needs to be well understood.

In short:

You don't need to create any new forms.
You can simply keep the existing ones.
You just need to create new Visforms menu link types for your existing forms (Visforms » Form Data with Edit Link).

Note:

The correct configuration of access rights and the following option are particularly important:
'Edit own data' option:

Links to the documentation:

 I recommend you the new and up-to-date documentation for Joomla 5:
docs.joomla-5.visforms.vi-solutions.de/en/docs/
Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 4.
Please only ask 1 question per topic :-).
