Multilanguage not working

Multilanguage not working was created by xtime123
On the Joomla extensions directory it says Visforms supports Joomla 2.5 languages natively, but it doesn't work for me.

I have the form in English, which works just fine.

When I try the same thing in French, the Submit and Reset buttons are still labeled in English, and also the word "Required" at the top of the form.

Specifically, I am using the forms like this:

The module is assigned to "All pages," has a template position I made up (newsmformfr), and is assigned to the French language (already working the the site content).

I have an article in a category (not directly off a menu item), with the language assigned to French, and am using {loadposition newsmformfr} to display the module in the page.

This works just fine for the form in English, but not in French. The questions are in French because I put them in that way, but the built-in form elements (the buttons and the word "Required") stay English. Can you please help?

Hi David,

thanks for that detailed description!
Although I've not tested that construction (module, loadposition in an article without direkt menu link) I think the translation basically works fine, for the questions are in french.

The button texts are the texts you typed in as "label" of the button field. I think you typed in there Submit and Reset in the french form as well?

The "requiered" text comes from the language file. I only made language files for english and german (which is my native tongue) but not for french.

If you want that text to be translated you have to make a french language file.
Create a folder fr-FR in
yourWebsite/components/com_visforms/language
copy the index.html and the en-GB.com_visforms.ini from
yourWebsite/components/com_visforms/language/en-GB into that folder.
Rename the file to fr-FR.com_visforms.ini and translate the strings into french.
Every translation string has to be included by "".
Please let me know, if that solved the problem.

Kind regards,
Aicha

Thank you for the quick and helpful reply!

Adding the fr-FR language file worked perfectly, and yes, I forgot to put the French text in for the buttons - my fault!

Thank you again,
Dave
