Hi,

this Option was added to the Visforms Subscription 3.2.1. The Subscription 3.2.x is currently released as a release candidate, but it is running quite stable.
Because it is a release candidate, I do not deliver it by "default". You have to download it manually from the download section of our website.
This Subscription Version requires a newer Visforms version as well. You must update Visforms to Visforms 3.11.3 Release Candidate, which you must also download from the downloads section of our website.
After you have updated to Visforms 3.11.3 and the Subscription 3.2.x you will find the option in the field configuration of fields of type "upload" on the "advanced" tab.
Regards,
Aicha

Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.

Thank you for the prompt and helpful reply. This feature is shown in the documentation for the free version and is the reason I paid for a subscription. I will upgrade as you suggest.

I have one other question about uploaded images. It seems they go to the tmp directory. My project involves collecting records for a family history project. I want the images to be saved permanently and easily available. Could they be directed to a folder in the Joomla Media images directory for use in Joomla articles without the Content Plugin complications?

I have not received your email reply yet. Maybe it will be there when I sort email in the morning. Email from outside the US is always slow to arrive.
Perhaps you could post the answer here in case other users are interested in the answer.
Cordially,
jch

Hi,
I assumed, you had received the mail, because you had asked there, how to post in the forum. I had answered that question in the mail, too. And because you now have posted in the forum, I assumed, you had received the mail.

Here is my answer from my mail.

You can set the folder, where the uploaded files are stored in the form configuration, on the tab "Advanced" at the bottom. There is a section titled "Fileuploads" and the option/parameter "Uploaded Fiels Directory". This allows you, to set the folder, where the files are uploaded to, individually for each form, if need be. The default value is the tmp folder.

I would recommend to create a separate new folder for the uploaded files, for example inside the images folder. The value, which you have to enter in the form option/parameter would then by images/myUploadFolderName (without / at the beginning and the end!). If you have more than one form, where the user can upload images, I think, I would even create a separate subfolder in "myUploadFolderName" (and then adapt the value in the form configuration, of course).

Please note, that Visforms provides an extensive description for every option/parameter, directly in the Visforms configuration, which can be read, if you hover with the mouse over the option/parameter label.

Regards,
Aicha
