Placeholder does not diplay one PDF template

Hi...

I am testing the PDF template and i have just added a field (placeholder) from the editor to inside the template (PDF) but the filed does not show.

The filed is image field that already has the photo in the data stored.

any idea how to make this appear in the pdf?

thanks for your request.

Fields of type file upload are somewhat special, because depending on the configuration "any" type of file can be uploaded.

Although we have already made many efforts to allow you to do "more" with image files (check if the file is an "image") in the frontend data views, I'm quite sure, that only the filename or file link will be used to replace a placeholder of a file upload field anywhere in visForms.

So my question is, is the placehoder not replaced at all, or is the problem, that there is no image visible in the pdf?

Please note, that we do release bugfixes for the beta version as soon as a bug is found, but that you will not be notified in the extension manager of these updates. So please go to the download directory of our website and download the latest version of the visForms and visForms Subscription beta versions and install them on your test system. But I'm quite sure, that this will not help you adding an uploaded image file as image into the pdf, but there are nevertheless some other bugs fixed...

Thank you for the fast response.

In my front view display of list and details view, the image (filed upload) is displayed. work great. But in the pdf, it only show the file path. for example:
imagename-1234.png

it supposed to be the image.

So it is exactly as I said. In the frontend data view (which are something very different from the placeholder) we have implemented, that it is possible to display an image as an image.

Placeholder, no matter where you use them in visForms (email, resultmessage or pdf) do not have this feature.
Placeholders are only replaced with the filename or a link to the file.

I can put this on the feature request list. But I cannot see, that I will find time soon to implement this.
