HI...

Please there a way that empty fields are not included in the PDF download in the front data view?
Currently, all fields are displayed irrespective of published or not, even though i set empty fields in the form setting to hide in Front Data View.

Thank you.

Hi,

sadly you are mixing very different things up, here.

Settings, which you make for the display of the frontend data view, have nothing to do with the structure and content of the PDF file, which is created, when you click the PDF download Icon in the frontend data view.

The structure and content of the PDF file, which is created, when you click the PDF download Icon, comes from the PDF Template, which you have created for this form and which you have selected as PDF Template for the frontend data view.

In this template you explicitely decide which fields are used with the PDF Template (be inserting them as placeholder in your texts), regardless of whether they are empty or not.

PDF Templates do not have a function to hide empty fields, they just replace the placeholders in the text with the actual user inputs. If a user has not made an input, the placeholder is just removed.

Regards,
Aicha

Thank you for your response.

Actually, your last paragraph answered my question - you understood very well what i was asking.

Now, is it possible for the pdf to hide fields that are empty? any plans to brings this up in future release?

Thank you.

Hi,

well actually, as the placeholder in the pdf is replaced with nothing, empty fields are hidden in the pdf.

Removing additional text "around" the placeholder, if the field is empty, is not possible and it is not plan to implement something like that.

Aicha
