Hello Admin,

I have asked and suggested before, but i am wondering if you are considering adding a filed for a QR code or Barcode to the form.

What i am looking for is to be able to scan a QR code generated on the PDF display or the form data desolay on a mobile device or other scan device and automatically a statuse change can happen..

case: When i scan the QR code, the statuse changes to delivered. the status is from the list of options i have in the form. Just like buss ticket i once see in Cologne, where the buss driver scanns the QR code of a ticket and it get updated in the database or a form filed of sort.

I know this is more of Mobile app, but i feel this form could do it with some configuration and SQL setting and statment..

Hello akshehu,

thank you very much for considering Visforms to get enhanced further!
I think I mostly got your picture. But first some clarification, just to be clear ...

The basic role of Visforms in your Use Case description is not completely clear to me:
1 - print the QR/Barcode
2 - read/scan the QR/Barcode and perform actions resulting in database updates

To role 1:
Have a Visforms field type of sort, that it outputs QR/Barcode (on the form, in the PDF, in the data view).
The value displayed by the QR/Barcode may come from different sources (free user input, user selection of possible options, some other hidden field, e.g.)

To role 2:
Do you even mean this role to be played by Visforms?

If you are thinking of role 1, than it might be possible to implement it in a general configurable way as new Visforms feature.
If you are thinking of role 2, than it is very much an individual feature which we might implement for you based on effort estimation and hourly rate.

Best Regards, Ingmar

 I recommend you the new and up-to-date documentation for Joomla 4:
docs.joomla-5.visforms.vi-solutions.de/en/docs/
Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.
Please only ask 1 question per topic :-).

Hi Admin,

You are correct, i was thinking of ROLE 1. if that is available with the visform, it will be really really cool.:)

For the Role 2, i dont need and urgently, could also be considered though in future. but if am pressed for the role two, i can seek a personal solution.

I love the Visform and have been using it for some years now, i am also not considering changing to another ;)

I hope this feature will come in nearest future.

Keep up with the good work.

Stay blessed.
