Hello solv4ex,

You need to
- configure the sending of emails in Joomla
- configure the 'user email' in the form and
- have at least one field of type 'Email' in your form.

There are sections in the documentation that describe the process in detail.

Send Emails:
docs.joomla-4.visforms.vi-solutions.de/e...issions/send-emails/

Data in emails & success message:
docs.joomla-4.visforms.vi-solutions.de/e...in-result-and-email/

Best regards, Ingmar

I think I've found the area.  It's unusual that you require 2 different areas to be filled out, but I suppose I can understand your thought process behind it.

I'll be testing it to see if it works.

Thanks

Hello solv4ex,

The Joomla configuration describes the access method and data for the email server via which the emails are to be sent.
This is part of the native Joomla administration through which the actual sending is done.

The form configuration and the form field describe a specific email to be sent.

Only for your information:
Within Visforms, sending emails is a very stable and bug-free functionality (well tested).
Once configured properly in Visforms (and Joomla) to work, the problem is usually not Visforms.

However, numerous players are involved in the workflow of sending e-mails (especially Joomla, the webmailer, the e-mail server, the provider, the e-mail client, IP blacklists and spam filters...).
The configuration of these players is regularly the reason why e-mails do not arrive as expected.

In particular, it is also possible that the e-mail address used is only temporarily rejected by the recipient.
The entire domain under which the e-mail is sent can also be blocked by the recipient in one way or another.

This can be remedied by testing the affected e-mail dispatch outside of the form.

All these areas are not part of the Visforms code, but are the responsibility of the respective administrator.

Sending e-mails is always a topic in the forum and so far it has always been the above 'third parties' that have led to problems and irregularities.

Also only for your information:
Visforms is used by tens of thousands of users.
All known bugs will be fixed immediately and we are currently not aware of any similar issues.
All Visforms installations and updates also work without any known errors.
Due to unfavorable server configurations or unfavorable configuration of the Joomla instance, there can definitely be problems with the installation/update.

Best regards, Ingmar
