"your session has expired" was created by ldr_nola
Hello

I have two forms using Visforms. One of them is working fine but the other one stopped working at some point within the last few months.

It does not save new records. When I submit the form it says "Your session has expired. Please login again." We don't require people to be logged in at all.

I don't even know where to start looking for the problem. Please advise.

Danke,

ldr_nola

Hi ldr_nola,

I tried to submit the form you sent me the link to, and I had no problems at all. Did you receive it?

We have to narrow the problem down.
Could you please test, if it is a problem that only occurs on your computer? (By trying to send the form from a totally different computer.)

You wrote

the other one stopped working at some point within the last few months

. Do you remember happening anything that could be related to the problem?

Let me know the results.

Regards,
Aicha

Hi Aicha

I do see your record in there, that's good.

EDITED TO ADD: I just tested it in another browser and it worked fine there. So who knows. Thanks for your help.

I started looking into this problem because I was told that one of our potential customers was having problems, but I don't know exactly what error they were getting.

The only unusual thing that has happened recently is that in January we upgraded to PHP version 5.4. But I don't know exactly when this problem started.

Thanks,

ldr_nola

Hi ldr_nola,

it's good to know, that there is no general problem with Visforms and the session. Nevertheless the error should ocure on your computer either.

Visforms uses - just as every Joomla! component should - session tokens as a security feature. The message you receive indicates that the token has changed between the request that delivers the empty form and the request that submits the form filled with user inputs. That should not ever happen! I don't want to get you unnervered or into a fuss but I was wondering if there might be a bad software on your computer. Maybe you can check. Let me know if you can fix the problem on your computer or find out where it comes from.

Maybe you can talk to your potential customer and find out what exactly his problem was.

I develop on a XAMPP with php 5.4 and Visforms is fully compatible with this php version.

Good luck and kind regards,
Aicha
