Hi,

there is a substancial documemntation on how to set up a multi column form properly www.vi-solutions.de/en/documentations/vi...0-multi-column-forms

Use Menu Item Option "Show page heading" (on "page display" tab) to display form title.

Regards,
Aicha

Most of this also applies retrospectively to Joomla 3.

I am doing it as per the documentation.
I added three new fields: STD Code, Phone and extn, to be shown in one row.
But the alignment is not proper.
I have set the width to 4 for each.

Hi,

it's all explained in the documentation and the questions you are asking are really problems which you have with the individual configuration of your website. I think you can imagine, that I cannot give free support in such a case.

Nevertheless I will give you one hint.
Try to set the label width of the textarea to 2 and the field width of the textarea to 10.

Regards,
Aicha

I agree that providing support for free is not feasible.
I was using fabrik forms, but due to many layout problems, I am looking for some alternates.

I do a form and show it to the client, who checks it. If he is satisfied, then I go for a purchase.

I was able to set the address field , but the problem has arisen in three fields in a row. (STD, Phone and Extn).
The gap between label and field is not as per the other labels (name/ email/ address)

Hi,
this happens because the bootstrap grid (maybe only of the prototype template) is not absolutely perfect. Calculated on paper having a column span4 inside a column span6 should result in the same width as a column span 2 inside a column span 12 but in reality there might be a slight difference. This problem may vary between templates. That is, why it may not be possible to create a multi column layout that looks exactly like you design it on paper.

You can try to use placeholders, instead of labels. (you have to adjust your span attributes for the field to span6 then).
If you work with textareas, you cannot use placeholders because textareas do not support that feature. In this case it is better to display the label above the textarea (set label and field span attribute to span 12).
This may result in a layout similar to my demo form www.vi-solutions.de/de/mehrspaltiges-formular

Aicha
