Visforms 3.10.0 and Subscription 3.0.0 Release Candidates
We proudly announce, that we have released Visforms 3.10.0 and the Visforms Subscription 3.0.0 yesterday. Both extensions have a stability level of Release Candidate.
We were able to add some highly sought after feature to both, Visforms and the Subscription, of which we think, they once again cover completely new fields of use.
What is new in Visforms
- Execute a Javascript function with a specific name before submit, if this function exists (allow to add a custom submit handler to form)
- New option for fields of type select, radio, checkbox group: use option label as placeholder value
- Support modified_at datetime in Visforms data tables
- Make Form in module more stable. Allow to select a corresponing menu item in Visforms module
What is new in the Visforms Subscription
The Visforms Subscription now adds some interesting new options to your form and field configuration, like redirecting the user to the previous page (the page with the form), after form was submitted successfully or like creating custom field labels, which are used in emails.
We have improved the field type calculation, so that it is now possible to use the field type "Date" in calculations. Especially if you have a booking form, this is an interesting feature, because you are now able to calculate the differenz between two dates.
Further on we have create a completely new field type "Location" which allows you to collect and store location information and display the location information in maps in form and frontend data views.
Further on there is a new feature, which might come in handy, if multiple users edit Visforms data in frontend, because, if users are not well disciplined, you may end up with checked out record sets in this case. There is now a Visforms setting, which allows you to set a time, after which checked out record sets will be checked in automatically, if the record set is opened in frontend edit view
Getting Visforsm 3.10.0 and Subscription 3.0.0
Developing those new feature required a lot of code changes. Although, as ever, we have testet very thoroughly, it is only us who tested. Therefore the releases have a stability level of Release Candidate.
You can use the Joolma! Update Manager to detect and install updates with this stability level, but the default settings of the Joomla! Update Manager are, that you are only informed about updates with the stability level Stable.
If you want to install the updates through Joomla! Update Manager, you have to set the option "Stability Level" in the Update Manager Options, to "Release Candidate". Save your changes, clear the Update Manager Cache and click the "Find Updates" Button. The Visforms 3.10.0 Update should then be displayed in the list of available updates. If you have a Visforms Subscription installed on your website you should see the Subscription Update in the list, too.
Alternatively you can leave the stability level option of the Joomla! Update Manager as it is and just download the installation packages from our download section. Obviously the Subscription download is only available if you have an active Visforms Subscription, and are logged in on our website with the user, that has bought the subcription.
