here is a brief update.
Re: Extensions update on your website:
I have performed an 'Extensions: Update' quite often now.
Except for #87 "vfbase" and #88 "vfsubscription" there were small 'Could not open update site' messages.
An 'Extensions: Update' takes longer than 50 seconds on your site.
The timeout for a call is 20 seconds.
I am therefore assuming that there are 2 timeouts in total because no response is received.
At the same time, not a single request arrived at our update server and there were no entries in the access log.

After that, I performed an 'Extensions: Update' here several times.
There were no messages and all requests arrived at our update server and were logged.
So it's not Visforms' fault.
The cause lies between your website and our update server.
Re: Your provider
The question to your provider would be:
Why is
- a correct HTTPS GET request
- with the correct URL (
vi-solutions.de/updates/visforms/extension_vfbase.xml
)
- from your website (scoutingalphen.nl)
- not transmitted or forwarded to our update server (vi-solutions.de)?
If your provider actively supports Joomla, they should be able to give you the answer.
Especially because the same process with an identical Joomla page (Akeeba backup) works perfectly with another provider (our provider).
