Prevent impatient users form submitting a form unintentionally twice
This feature is part of the Visforms Subscription and not available in the free Visforms version..
Impatient users or mails, stuck in spam folders, may mislead users to try to fill in and submit a form twice. The plugin "Delay Double Registration" enables you to set a time span during which a user will not be able to submit the form twice an thus will prevent double registration and doublicate record sets. Submitted user inputs must be stored in the database in order for this plugin to work.
Using the plugin is easy. After having installed and published the plugin, you will find a new tab "Delay Double Registration" in the form edit view (form configuration) in the administration panel. You can set a delay time span in seconds and, if you like to, a custom error message, which will be displayed if a user is prevented from sending a form twice, there.
You can set the options "delay" and "custom error message" for each form individually. Set delay to "0" if you do not want to prevent double registration for a specific form. You can leave the "custom error message" empty, a default message will be displayed, then.
The plugin uses the IP address, to identify who is "a user". Therefore there is no 100 percent security, that a user cannot submit a form twice even within the delay time span, if they really want to. Nevertheless, the plugin provides an easy and effective protection from unintentional double registration even if the form is submitted by a user who is not logged in.
